I'm Nayan Kalola, a Python backend developer with about 3 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs. I work primarily in the Django ecosystem — Django, Django REST Framework, Django Channels — building secure, high-performance, production-ready systems.

My core focus is backend architecture: API development, database design, authentication and authorization, asynchronous task processing with Celery and Redis, caching strategies, and performance optimization. I've built role-based access control systems, integrated third-party APIs and payment gateways, optimized PostgreSQL queries for faster data retrieval, and automated backend processes with Python scripts.

I've worked across Agile teams, collaborating closely with frontend developers, QA, and product managers to ship reliable software. I care about clean, reusable code that follows SOLID principles and is easy for other engineers to maintain — not just code that works today.

I'm currently open to freelance and contract backend work — from building a new API from scratch to optimizing and securing an existing Django application.
